BMTR is one of the UK’s oldest independent tyre retailers.

Founded in 1919 by J.J. Smith, BMTR has run through three generations of Smith family-ownership until 2017, when a Management Buy Out saw the company take a new direction for the future. Our flagship outlet in Perry Barr is Birmingham’s largest retail tyre warehouse with over 100,000 tyres in stock at all times, meaning we cater for almost every tyre requirement.

In addition to our core principle of customer service, we take pride in our competitive pricing and ensure we remain at the cutting edge of fitting, balancing and alignment technology. Coupled with the technical know-how of our staff, we believe we offer a service which is second-to-none.

This belief is backed up by the recognition and certification awarded to BMTR throughout the industry. BMTR is a Platinum Standard member of Pirelli’s Performance Centre network and twice winner of PPC of the year, a feat never achieved by any other tyre centre. We are also a Michelin Certified tyre centre, and are members of Grouptyre, Conti 360, ITDN and Truckforce. with, BMTR has retained Pirelli’s Platinum Standard for more than 10 consecutive years, has been crowned winner of UK Performance centre of the year 4 times and is current champion, having retained this prestigious award again in 2023. We are also a Michelin Certified tyre centre, and are members of Grouptyre, Continental 360 Network, ITDN and Truckforce.
